GENERAL SUMMARY
As
the subject matter expert the SPC provides technical and consultative
leadership for EMC technical solutions opportunities on a range of
complex IT consulting engagements. These projects may include analyzing
requirements, implementation, customization, integration and
documentation for the customer. Works closely with sales, project
managers, other TS personnel, and the customer to ensure a smooth
implementation and transition from start-up to integration/production
mode. Key responsibility is the successful execution of all consulting
engagements including evaluating customers'' strategic business issues,
identify requirements, create business case justifications, and propose
appropriate enterprise solutions. Capable of working with minimal
supervision. Knowledgeable of industry best practices in the
implementation of complex technical solutions. Demonstrates strong
interpersonal skills.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Represents
EMC in a professional manner to customers, EMC Partners and other EMC
personnel at all times. Trains customer personnel when authorized by BRS
management. Provides support and instruction to less experienced
co-workers, through classroom training sessions or on-the-job mentoring.
Acts as a mentor and assists or presents training development
environments to peers, customers and other organizations. Acts as back
up to project manager or to provide team technical leadership on
specific implementations.

· Supports
and reports to engagement project manager while assigned to active
customer engagements. Advises project manager on level of effort
required to perform assigned implementations. Ensures that all project
communication with the customer goes through the engagement project
manager.

· Prepares,
maintains and submits activity/progress reports and time
recording/management reports in accordance with published procedures.
Keeps Project Managers informed of activities, alerting of any issues
promptly. Completes end-of-project reports. Seeks advice or assistance
from BRS management as required during difficult customer situations.
Works in conjunction with EMC colleagues to ensure effective resolution
of technical issues encountered during implementations. Provides
knowledge transfer throughout and at the completion of assigned
projects. Applies methodologies prudently on a project

· Leads
project quality assurance activities, including performing technical QA
reviews on components for a team and performing QA reviews of
documentation.

· Validates
requirements, limited prototyping, and functionality design.
Responsible for the creation of proposals that address current and
evolving client requirements. Performs according to established safety
standards. Reports unsafe situations and recommends improvements.
|
· Provides
issue resolution (point of contact for technical questions). Leads
solution reviews, testing process and certification of software.
|
· Facilitates
client and internal meetings, presents application architecture and
design solutions. May supervise staff on project engagements. EMC Proven
Professional Certification desired.

· Willingness to travel extensively throughout EMEA (up to 70%)

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelors (Technical) or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· 5yrs plus general IT industry experience
· 2yrs plus direct involvement with email systems (Microsoft Exchange and/or Lotus Domino/Notes)
· Experience of working in a project-based environment, preferably as an Consultant
· Experience of a customer-facing role, preferably as a IT Consultant
· Experience of software installation and configuration (experience of software solution architecture a bonus)
· Experience of SharePoint and/or File Archiving solutions would be a bonus
· Experience of eDiscovery (enterprise wide search for compliance) solutions would be a bonus
· Preferably Lotus and/or Microsoft certified as an email Administrator OR equivalent professional experience
· Preferably experience of email archiving products (e.g. EMC EmailXtender & SourceOne, Symantec Enterprise Vault, Zantaz EAS)
