Role Summary/Purpose     Work closely with engineering and business stakeholders to accelerate Lean/Agile adoption by providing training, coaching, feedback, and advice, and by helping to identify and resolve impediments.

Essential Responsibilities

Working across GE Healthcare at several sites and globally, drive the adoption of Lean Startup approaches, Scrum, XP, Lean, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices and principles. These include:
Promoting a whole-business transformation, with rapid iteration, feedback, and relentless focus on fast/cheap validation of key business case assumptions. Drive approaches as described in The Lean Startup, Startup Owners Manual, Startup Playbook, and Business Model Generation (canvas).
Scrum for team organization and project management
Scaling up to scrum-of-scrums, release trains, and portfolio planning following the Scaled Agile Framework model (SAFe).
Complementary technical practices from Extreme Programming (XP) including continuous integration, test-driven development (BDD/TDD), pairing, open team environments, visualization of work, & team morale.
Lean concepts, including defining value, value stream mapping, identifying waste, flow, pull, Kanban, and continuous improvement through limiting WIP and stop-the-line RCA.
Provide training for teams and individuals, from basic scrum team workshops to SAFe release-train workshops to more specialized training on specific practices.
Motivate teams to adopt practices by showing problems with the status quo, explaining the benefits of new practices and principles, and understanding and overcoming perceived obstacles to adoption. Help teams form new work habits with hands-on coaching and feedback.
Acquire a world-class depth of expertise in Lean Startup ideas, Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), XP, and Lean through self-study, conferences, and benchmarking experts and organizations. Share knowledge across the organization by fostering communities of practice.
Help teams identify and resolve constraints and impediments so they can improve.
Promote appropriate metrics to demonstrate that good practices are taking hold.


Qualifications/Requirements
    

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or other technical discipline
Five years of experience with Agile, with demonstrated depth of knowledge and success promoting Agile best practices.
Ten years of software development experience.
