Reporting to the Head of Central BRCM, the
Central Business Risk and Control Manager’s role is to ensure the
existence and the effectiveness of an appropriate risk and control
management and to foster a culture of "business owns the risk".

Reporting to the Head of Central BRCM, the Central Business Risk and Control Manager’s role is to ensure the existence and the effectiveness of an appropriate risk and control management and to foster a culture of "business owns the risk".
You will coordinate work on a cross-entity level for all functions supporting our businesses and with particular focus on IT. You will be brought into close contact with a large number of departments across HSBC Luxembourg and will interact with multiple key stakeholders to ensure a robust Risk and Control environment is present and regularly reviewed.
The C-BRCM team members are also responsible for Fraud Prevention & Control as well as Lead BIRO (Business Information Risk Officer) activities.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Maintain and refresh the Risk & Control Assessments and Internal Control Monitoring Plans for the areas under your responsibility;
- Alongside the business, carry out the control monitoring activities and provide expert judgement on the effectiveness of the control environment;
- Follow-up on all issues and actions, management self-identified issues, dispensations, risk acceptances;
- Prepare, participate and report to the different legal entity Business Control Committees.
- Lead by example, demonstrating core behaviours and values including teamwork, focus, drive and determination;
- Work collaboratively across the organisation;
- Foster strong relationships with all areas of the business through good inter-personal skills;
- Offer help to colleagues within and outside team, regularly providing feedback on new and better ways of doing things, sharing ideas and best practices with the team.
- Broad knowledge of Information Technology services around data availability and integrity is essential. A working understanding of the following topics is preferred: Operating Systems, Databases, Clusters, Servers, SAN, Back-up site technologies, Job scheduling;
- Education with a bias towards Information Technology or ICT is preferred;
- Experience in the following domains is relevant: IT Quality, Helpdesk services, IT incident management;
- Experience in the following fields is relevant: IT Operations, IT processing, Vendor Management;
- Any experience related to audit, risk, compliance or internal control is a definite advantage;
- Ability to operate in matrix structures with multiple stakeholders and in a multicultural environment;
- Well organised, autonomous and determined;
- Fluency in English is mandatory, French would be a plus.
